Every analytical brief on The Stock Radar follows the same three-step process, applied
consistently across macro, sector,
insider, options,
earnings, and regime coverage.
Contents
Step 1: Primary-Source Data Only
No data aggregators, no scraped tier-2 numbers. Every signal comes directly from the source:
- Rates / yields / credit spreads — FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data)
- Inflation / labor — BLS (Bureau of Labor Statistics): CPI, PPI, Nonfarm Payroll, Initial Jobless Claims
- Institutional positioning — CFTC COT: asset-manager and leveraged-money net positions
- Energy — EIA: weekly petroleum status, gasoline demand, natural gas storage
- Insider trades — SEC EDGAR: Form 4 open-market purchases (transaction code “P”)
- Options-implied moves — CBOE-listed options chains (via Yahoo Finance): VIX term structure (VIX/VIX3M/VIX9D), SPX/QQQ ATM straddle pricing, put/call OI ratios
- Company fundamentals — Finnhub, SEC 10-Q/10-K filings, Yahoo Finance
Step 2: Analytical Framework
The first draft of every analytical piece is written by Jungwook Shin (Small-Cap Equity Analyst,
LinkedIn)
using a consistent framework:
- Open with the verdict — first 25 words name the magnitude, direction, and catalyst with a specific number.
- Trace cause and effect — chain 3-5 explanatory steps, never just “X happened.”
- Surface a non-obvious read — every brief has at least one paragraph that says something the sell-side won’t say today.
- Bridge cross-asset signals — HY OAS / 2s10s / DXY / VIX term / copper-gold ratios get woven into the read.
- Forward Bull / Base / Bear — every brief quantifies asymmetry with specific price levels and dated catalysts.
Step 3: Senior Editor Review
No draft is published without an editorial review pass. The senior editor checks for:
- Analytical integrity (every claim traceable to a primary source above)
- Cliché removal (“dive into”, “delve”, “robust”, “navigate the landscape” etc. — banned)
- Depth checks (claim density target: 1 named entity / 80-120 words, 1 number / 120-160 words)
- Structural variety (no two consecutive briefs share more than 2 H2 headings)
Drafts failing review are revised before they go live. Our internal quality gate (90+/100 composite
score) blocks publication of anything below buy-side analytical standard.
Fact Validation
Every numeric claim in published content is cross-checked against the source data at the time of
publication. Macro statistics cite the FRED / BLS / CFTC series, equity prices reference the venue
close-on-close, and earnings figures cite SEC filings. See our
Corrections policy for how we handle data revisions.
What We Don’t Do
- No direct buy/sell calls. We frame asymmetry; the trade is your call.
- No pump-and-dump or paid promotion content.
- No data we can’t trace to a primary source.
- No template repetition — every brief is written for the specific week’s data, not a recyclable shell.
Track Record
Every direction call (with target + horizon) is logged at our Track Record
page with 7-day and 30-day market outcomes. No cherry-picking — full history.
